De Pere’s Nolan following a new path…

—>

Dave Nolan is a family man on a mission of faith.

While part of it includes finding a new career after an 18-year stint in the automotive industry ended when General Motors decided to stop making Saturns, another component to his master plan is getting more people to look beyond the world’s values.

“My dream job would be to have a career in sync with my passions %u2014 the outdoors partnered with the Christian ministry,” Nolan said. “My goal is to be the face of an organization and build relationships with an organization that shares the same passions.”

Born and raised in Green Bay, Nolan resides in De Pere with his wife, Kayla, and three children: Erik, Bryce and Sarah.

With his wife working fulltime, Nolan has been patient while career hunting after losing his job as a department manager for Bergstrom Automotive-Saturn of Green Bay last year. He’s working with a career advisor to gauge the right fit for his experience, skill sets and personality.

“Initially, I felt fearful and a little panicked,” Nolan said. “Today, and as I look back, it has really been a growing experience for me, both personally and in my faith as well %u2014 really a blessing.”

Nolan said his family has grown closer since he’s been able to spend more time with them. He’s also had time to refresh, regroup and pursue some of the avenues he normally might not have been able to.

“My passion has always been with the outdoors, mainly waterfowl hunting and freshwater fishing

,” Nolan said. “Now I have the opportunity to pursue a career that I am truly excited about.”

Raised a short bicycle ride from the Bay of Green Bay and the mouth of the Fox River, Nolan spent a lot of time exploring the shorelines.

Once old enough to hunt, he filled newspaper route sacks with decoys and headed to the cattail-lined shores, hoping to find an open waterfowl blind. Three decades later, he’s still hunting the bay’s shorelines and islands.

A former state goose calling champion, Nolan has several other top five state and national duck and goose calling finishes and was a part-time sales representative for various waterfowl call manufacturers. Somewhere along the way, he added public speaker and waterfowl calling instructor to his resume.

I love to see my friends [and clients] enjoying success…
